It is
today now one of the largest precast concrete producers in
Eastern Ontario.
M-CON has two Hawkeye PipePlus
machines which produce 300mm through 1800mm
diameter concrete pipe, trench covers and a full
line of manholes and catch basin products.
M-CON also has a VUP machine that is
capable of producing Box Culverts and large
diameter pipe. There is also a wet-cast bay which
produces standard box manholes up to 3000mm x
3750mm in size or specialty sizes that are
much larger. To supply the
concrete, M-CON installed a fully
computerized 450 tonne batch plant
complete with two high volume mixers. The
computerized batching provides accurate and
consistent mixes required for producing a
high quality product. The reinforcing steel
for the concrete pipe and manholes is
manufactured with two high output resistance
welding machines, an Acrowood and
MBK machine. This machine auto- matically
shape, weld, and cut steel wire to form the
various steel cages required.
